The safari lodge

Mhondoro fuses African chic and edgy European influences with unique features such as a custom-built star ‘star deck’ with a telescope and an underground hide connected to the main lodge by a tunnel. Other highlights include a swimming pool and a dedicated massage suite.

The three-bedroom villa pampers you with its own pool, gym, yoga room and a private guide, vehicle and chef.

The two deluxe suites each have one bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and a deck overlooking the waterhole.

The Family Suite accommodates four guests. It has two bedrooms and a shared bathroom as well as dining and living areas.

This offers the perfect romantic getaway, accommodating two guests and in a spacious bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. It has a private spa pool and a deck.

This accommodates four guests in two bedrooms, both with en-suite bathrooms. There is also a lounge area with a fireplace and a private viewing deck.

The villa has a magnificent main suite and two additional en-suite bedrooms. The ultimate in luxury and privacy, it comprises a heated pool, gym, yoga room and private staff, including your own guide and vehicle.

Safari experiences

Mhondoro is perfect for exploring Welgevonden on foot or by safari vehicle. The reserve is a biodiverse haven with all of the Big Five – lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and buffalo – present. Strict guidelines cover the number of vehicles permitted at sightings, especially of predators, giving you an uncrowded experience with unstressed animals.
